The monthly Pickwick vintage fair at The Row is always a cool cornucopia of colors and fabrics – but it’s best in L.A.’s colder weather. Not exactly cold. L.A. cold.
If you’re looking for fashion inspo, the way the shoppers and vendors put things together: mixed prints, short with long, wild color combo’s – colored leather jackets from the 70’s,plus the vintage 70’s eyewear frames that are better than those in any actual store. So are the bright pink, orange or green fuzzy faux furs. I was looking at cream color faux furs: there were capes with ribbon ties, hoodies, super fuzzies and longer chubs.
The outerwear was truly inspired: a pale peach coat with fur cuffs. All color leather jackets and coats. And know what? Very few items are more that $150 bucks. Plus everyone’s very friendly – it’s really a community of visualists, that, for a refreshing change, has little to do with money. Much more to do with personal style. If you want a lesson in L.A. layering, this is the place to go.
