The Daily Front Row, the New York fashion gossip website and daily print edition during New York fashion week has been doing its Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards for ten years – can you believe it? Many heavies in fashion and media have been awarded; two years ago, Bob Mackie was picking up the Lifetime Achievement Award (and a standing ovation from designers, stylists, celebrities, journalists and many many influencers. Lady Gaga presented an award to her hairstylist one year, THR editor Maer Roshan took the media prize two years ago, handed out by none other than Ryan Murphy. This year, LA brand ALC’s Andrea Lieberman (and former stylist) took home brand of the year award, while the iconic designer Zaldy got the lifetime achievement award from none other than Rupaul; Zaldy designed every single outfit Rupaul wore to the hilt on Drag Race. Winners and outfit swapping host Tiffany Haddish aside, @iCandyLA was there to capture its somewhat diverse crowd: while faces were all different, outfits remained right on trend: women in bodycon sheaths, lots of partly sheer skirts, over the top colorful or simply black or white mostly long or short length simple clean lined dresses. That left the femmes who went wild to really stand out – more than usual. The gents at this event always go for it. It’s a place where fine feathered friends can vogue, preen and take selfies to their hearts’ content.
