EVENT TWELVE

TO BE A FINALIST

ICandyLA’s sole mission: documenting sartorially splendid Angelenos out and about, anywhere and everywhere – was fabulously fulfilled this year.

I say: Why not dress like a rock star – or movie star – or, hell, Hulu star – if you can? With the endless array of vintage and secondhand stores found in every port in the 323, 310, 424, 213 and 818, one can put together a couturial costume on a little more than

a quarter. All it takes is time – and a little imagination. It’s not so much about finding that dress or jacket for a particular party – the right dress, the right suit – they ARE the party!! And if you’ve got an extra few thousand lying around – or can score free celeb couture – you’ve got zero excuses: in L.A., there’s a red carpet round every corner. Every night’s an awards show.

So dig in and err on the side of Paris Hilton: “The only rule is: don’t be boring and dress cute wherever you go. Life’s too short to blend in.”
