TODD SNYDER

CELEBRATES MATT BOMER AD CAMPAIGN / SAN VICENTE BUNGALOWS /  NOVEMBER 9TH

WHERE/WHAT: TODD SNYDER

NAME: Todd Snyder

OCCUPATION: Menswear designer extraordinaire Todd Snyder (who has an amazing store at Weho’s The Grove)

SUM OF THE PARTS: All Todd Snyder. What did you expect? “The glasses are Moscot.”

STYLE PHILOSOPHY: “I wear what I sell. I always like what Oscar Wilde said: ‘You can never be over-educated or overdressed.”

NUGGETS OF CANDY: Todd’s menswear piece are just immaculate. Great fabrics, well cut, elegant but still relaxed. His price point is also more than fair. This event featured 90 percent men, all looking like they stepped out of old English gentlemens’ club, with unique eyewear. Any of them good go anywhere in any of it. I mean, anywhere in the world.

i-CANDY RATING: I think sending Todd a box of the best cigars is a good idea. He probably doesn’t smoke but there’s something about the essence of a cigar-scented gentlemens’ club in England that he seems to be aspiring to. And achieving. (His candle called “Young Dunes” was created by scent makers DS & Durga.

WHERE/WHAT: TODD SNYDER

NAME: David Netto

OCCUPATION: Los Angles-based interior designer and writer.

SUM OF THE PARTS: Richard James, top to bottom. Shirt as well (though I think the tie is Valentino). Shoes from Tricker’s. I wear lots of Todd Snyder but I was on my way to a black and white party after this.

STYLE PHILOSOPHY: Bring a dash of good tailoring to whatever outfit you put together, usually in the form of the jacket. Dress like you respect whoever you might end up sitting next to on a plane. As you get older, dress better–clothes become the main, if not only, way you can remain attractive.

i-CANDY RATING: As sleek and as handsome as 70’s Roxie Music’s Brian Ferry. His presence when he walks in the room and turns heads is his treat.

WHERE/WHAT: TODD SNYDER

NAME: Andrew Weitz of The Weitz Effect

OCCUPATION: Style Consultant and Men’s Fashion Expert

SUM OF THE PARTS: “Berluti polo, Berluti sneakers, Zegna cashmere bomber jacket, joggers, eyewear by Akoni.”

STYLE PHILOSOPHY: “My mantra is ‘style for success.” You are your visual business card. One makes an impression in about three seconds. Show up or showdown.

NUGGETS of i-CANDY: Quite simply, Andrew is THE MAN. His clients include Tom Brady, Elton Musk and WME’s Ari Emmanuel.

i-CANDY RATING: Andrew’s so classic yet modern, he rates ten bottles of Classic Coke. Never goes out of style.

WHERE/WHAT: TODD SNYDER

NAME: John Pearson (left) / Jim Moore (right)

OCCUPATION: John/The first male supermodel and found/editor of MrFeelgood.com Jim/Longtime Creative Director of GQ

SUM OF THE PARTS: (John) “My Thom Sweeney corduroy/cashmere suit, my Buck Mason navy tee and my Zvelle ‘Ray’ high top sneakers. – (Jim) “I’m wearing a Todd Snyder black corduroy.”

STYLE PHILOSOPHY: (John) “Functional Chic – it’s all about effortless – I don’t have the time nor the inclination to worry or overthink what I wear. Keep it simple and elegant. I like the idea of going Davis Hockney or Oscar Wilde when I hit 70 and beyond.” (Jim) Given his role at GQ – styling/producing shoots – it’s obvious Moore has his style down: good fabrics, good cuts, ark colors, chic eyewear, simplicity with quality. All we have to say is: Bravo.

NUGGETS OF CANDY: (John) The first male supermodel, who walked for Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. (Jim) Jim’s look is high profile professional but not at all stiff.  No wonder he styled the Todd Snyder/Matt Bomer ad campaign.

i-CANDY RATING: A case of Sassicia Tuscan 2020 for each of them.

WHERE/WHAT: TODD SNYDER

NAME: Jason Weisenfeld

OCCUPATION: Iconic head of global communications and marketing for such brands as Versace, Victoria Beckham, Tiffany’s, Coach, Reed Krakoff – it goes on and on. He now consults to menswear designer Todd Snyder.

SUM OF THE PARTS: “I’m a hundred percent in Todd Snyder, head to toe. I take this shit seriously.”

STYLE PHILOSOPHY: “I believe in a uniform.”

NUGGETS OF CANDY: I’ve known Jason since my days at WWD in the mid to late nineties. He’s always had his own look: clean, professional, looking like he thinks more about the job than his clothes – but those who work in fashion take this shit very seriously. Don’t let him fool you. Pared down, sleek, with simplicity is hard work.

i-CANDY RATING: Those with great personalities, tons of charisma and charm – not to mention an old school razor sharp wit – no need to fussbudget. Jason rates ten Hershey’s milk chocolate bars, no nuts: clean, sweet enough, no gilding the lily.

WHERE/WHAT: TODD SNYDER

NAME: Tiffany Thiessen

OCCUPATION: Actress, author, chef.

SUM OF THE PARTS: Pink coat by Ulla Johnson. Print dress by Rhode. I love color.”

STYLE PHILOSOPHY: “I feel the same about clothes as I do about food and music. I get inspired by emotion and nostalgia. I take my time; I need to be excited about what I’m wearing. It can make the whole evening.”

NUGGETS OF CANDY: Tiffany understands how to dress for your coloring. The pink and peach tones are super flattering to her dark hair and pale skin.

i-CANDY RATING: Ten bottles of gourmet pink lemonade – for obvious reasons.
